2024 Community News: Samaha & Associates Partners with Credit Unions Supporting Community Initiatives
The Samaha & Associates team fondly reflects on the charitable initiatives it was honored to support along with its valued credit union partners.
While the firm’s prime objective is supporting its clients’ technological strategies—uniquely tailored to serve respective membership and employees—the company also looks past its important consulting work to ensure its credit union partners can proudly support local students, young professionals, grassroots initiatives, and fundraising campaigns.
“The credit unions we are honored to work with are far more than clients, they are part of the Samaha & Associates family,” said Samaha & Associates CEO Sabeh Samaha. “Throughout the summer, we thoroughly enjoyed supporting several well-meaning and community affirming organizations that truly embrace the ‘people helping people’ movement.”
CONTRIBUTING TO SUCCESSFUL OUTINGS
In June, the firm pledged money to the League of Southeastern Credit Unions, Young Professionals Group of Palm Beach County Credit Unions and Gold Coast Federal Credit Union. This was in support of the Young Professionals Group of Palm Beach County Credit Unions of Incredi-Bowls Tournament that took place in Palm Beach County, Fla. Drawing more than 80 attendees, the event also included a Samaha & Associates’ supported raffle. “It was a pleasure to contribute to such a great cause,” Samaha said.
In July, The TopLine Credit Union Foundation’s 8th Annual Charitable Lawn Bowling Fundraiser, hosted by Topline Financial Credit Union in Minneapolis, Minn., welcomed more than 160 attendees. As a platinum event sponsor, Samaha & Associates also donated funds, which helped to raise more than $62,000.
“All proceeds were given back to support local communities by awarding scholarships and other community efforts,” Samaha shared.
In August, the firm was in Nashville, Tenn. for the 15th Annual Credit Unions for Kids Golf Classic, hosted by US Community Credit Union., Samaha & Associates was the hole-in-one sponsor. In total, 144 golfers, 18 tent sponsors, 73 sponsors helped to raise over $60,000. All proceeds were directed to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital in Vanderbilt, Tenn., Samaha noted.
TACKLING IMPORTANT ISSUES
The 2024 summer closed out with two memorable events. First, the firm was back on the links for the Southern California Credit Union Alliance Third Quarter Collaboration Event. Hosted by the SSCUA Southern California Credit Union Alliance, the occasion was held at the Coyote Hills Golf Course in Fullerton, Calif. Eight of the firm’s clients sit on SSCUA’s board of directors, Samaha shared, adding, “Individual efforts and issues by credit unions of all sizes are discussed and members work together to tackle all issues.”
Samaha & Associates returned to Palm Beach County for the iTHINK Foundation’s annual Bowl-A-Thon, hosted by iTHINK Financial Credit Union. The firm was a “Kingpin” sponsor. Approximately one hundred attendees raised funds for the iTHINK Community Foundation, which focuses on helping at risk children in the local community.
“Proceeds will go to help provide scholarships for young people to attend college as well as bookbags and school supplies to children in the community and holiday gifts,” Samaha noted.
SEEKING OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
As Samaha & Associates closes out 2024, it reflects on other community-centric initiatives undertaken throughout the year, including contributing to the Think Pink® breast cancer education and awareness campaign, the Black Hills Federal Credit Union Charitable Fund, and the Orange County Network Back to School Bowling Bash 2024.
In February, Samaha was a presenter at the Palm Beach Chapter of Credit Unions Annual Meeting (Palm Beach Chapter of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates). He spoke on best practices in credit union technology projects and core conversions, noting that the firm was honored to also provide a generous raffle prize.
This commitment to supporting credit union-driven community initiatives is part of the firm’s core DNA, Samaha further explained. “It is our privilege and honor to serve the credit union industry,” he continued. “As we look toward the end of 2024, and into 2025, we will seek opportunities to support our credit union partners—along with their members and employees—in the communities in which they work and live.”
